It doesn't have anything to do with our rejection of our Creator. This kind of stuff has always been happening. It's just being reported more now. In fact the less kids know about God and the more they create their own moral code, why, the safer we become.

The atheist utopia is almost here. Just get rid of Christianity and peace will reign.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbour as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't discipline our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'”

And atheists? What do they say? 

A couple years ago, when an online appeal was made for atheists to give blood on the World Day of Prayer, one atheist, displaying the traditional atheist world-view said, "Can't I just fuck around an watch tv if I want?" 

Thankfully there is a new group of atheists A+ trying to change tradition but they are taking a HUGE amount of flack for trying to "impose" morality.

Nevertheless, today this blog's own resident atheist expert, in the face of looming tragedy tells us, "Hey my life is good. I'm just thankful it isn't happening to me."

Obviously, to atheists at least, the facts before us prove that, "We don't need God in order to be good people.”

Would You Vote For Him?

Not likely. At least according to grass roots atheists in the United States. These people are gaining momentum in voicing their displeasure regarding the imperious behaviours of leaders in the North American atheist movement.

In no uncertain terms these atheist leaders demand that the good folks of the United States stop discriminating and begin electing atheists to government; atheists who could some day become President.

Yet the supercilious manner in which people like David Silverman and Al Stephanelli make these demands and the means by which they attempt to bring about the neo Stalinist utopia make even common atheists cringe at the prospect of having an atheist lead the Nation.

And who could blame them?

Ads like the current one in Times Square where in atheist-world Santa and his reindeer is NOT a myth but Jesus is, causes one to wonder whether G.K.'s depiction of atheists as “brute beasts” may be more accurate that one would hope.

Oh well, life goes on and as the proverb says, “May you live in interesting times.

Today, right across the street from where you and I live:

. 25,000 children will starve to death.
. Millions of children are working in sexual slavery.
. AIDS will claim the lives of thousands of children.
. The gap between the rich and the poor is growing faster than at any other time in history.
. Our children are contracting STD’s at a rate that isn’t even matched by adults.
. People are choosing to die in numbers unequalled at any other time in history.
. Despair, loneliness, and hopelessness are rampant in all age groups.

. Every year, out of the estimated 30 million slaves in the world, 2.8 million child-slaves are permanently disabled and 30,000 die from injuries incurred during their slave labour.

That reality of course is sickening to atheists. But not in the way you might imagine or hope. "Sure there are problems in the world but from where I sit things look pretty good." 

They simply don't want to hear about it.

Out Of The Mouths of Babes

My wife has been ill for several weeks. As I was driving my son (he's chronologically 12 but operates at about a 4-year-old level) to something yesterday he asked, “If mom dies, will we go to a foster home?”

“Of course not,” I replied. “I'll take care of you.”

He was quiet for about ten seconds and then said, “Do you have enough money to keep taking us to restaurants or will you have to learn to cook?”

Hmm, I guess Tomato soup and peanut butter sandwiches haven't been as impressive as I'd once thought. 

I love that boy. 

He's the same one who, when he was maybe seven-years-old was sitting quietly in his room for quite awhile. And when I walked by and asked what he was doing he looked up at me and said, "I'm just thinking about who I might marry." 

Killing Atheists

Atheist blogs are bristling with the news (yes to atheists it seems to be news), that in seven Muslim countries, you could be executed for being an atheist.

The shock!

The horror!

Islam is such a peaceful religion. Who knew that being something other than Muslim in Muslim countries could be dangerous to your health? Well, apparently atheists didn't know that, and now that they do, well, tell the world.

Here's what I wonder. Since these same countries would love to eradicate Christians along with all other infidels (there are millions of online accounts of Christians being killed in Muslim countries every year) my question is this.

Would you die for your atheist faith?

When Islam gains enough power world-wide, will you be willing to place your head on a chopping block next to the one upon which your Christian neighbour is resting her head? Or will a pusillanimous fog envelope that will cause you to tick off “Muslim” on your passport or driver's license?

Surely not. Not an atheist. Not those who eagerly anticipate confronting their Creator so they can accuse Him of not presenting enough evidence to warrant belief. Not those who in a derisory tone say they'd rather stand in hell than kneel in heaven.

Aren't you as an atheist, so convinced of the truth that the material cosmos is all that ever has existed or ever will exist that you'd be willing to die for that truth?

Aren't you as an atheist so certain that death is the end of existence that closing the door on this stage of life is just not that big a deal? Physical death holds nothing to fear for you, right? So why not stare Mohammed in the eye and declare, “Live free or die!”

If those weak, spineless Christians can do it, surely atheists can show just as much faith in their belief system. Right?

Down through the centuries 100's of millions of Christians, beginning with Jesus' original disciples, have been so convinced that He, Jesus, is alive, risen from the dead and residing Spiritually within them that they will endure almost any kind of torture and death rather than deny what they know to be true. As one Christian martyr said through gritted teeth to those who were burning him to death, “You can turn me over. I think I'm done on that side.”

Ninety million Christians in the 20^th century alone have died at the hands of atheist leaders who were desperate to rid the world of Jesus' message of salvation. They were so close to ensuring an atheist utopia and they let it slip through their fingers.

Now that we're on the cusp of Islam's turn to purify the world of evil and bring about its version of utopia:

. Will you, atheist, stand for what you believe?

. Will you die for what you believe?

. Or is the rejection of your Creator just a passing fad?

. Will you “see the light” and convert rather than pretend to have integrity?

My guess is you'll lie, and deceive, and play the hypocrite just to avoid death by one more day. If it makes you whimper to have someone say Merry Christmas to you, you'll certainly accommodate the similarities between atheism and Islam (salvation by works) and adapt your beliefs accordingly, right?

It won't even be that big of a deal.  

“Something Come In It”

I never really knew my grandparents. I’m the youngest in my family and both of my parents are the youngest of many children in each of their families so my grandparents died before I was old enough to understand who they were. I’ve talked about remembering my alcoholic grandfather on my mother’s side passing out at the table and falling with his face into the mashed potatoes. What I remember of my grandmother on my dad’s side is this. We were standing by the garden, looking at the strawberry patch. Several of the plants were dying and when my mother wondered aloud what was going on, my grandmother pronounced, “Something come in it.” I don’t know how old I was but her odd way of phrasing that thought stuck with me.

In the marriages of the couples I see, something similar happens. Something has come into their marriages. Thoughts and behaviours that are destructive to relationships have been imported from their parent's marriages. That something also resembles cancer.

Like the white cells in a body with cancer, when it comes to maintaining the health of the marriage, one or both cells (partners) have become disloyal to the body (marriage). In fact, instead of working to protect the marriage body, the behaviours of the out of control cell(s) are now actively destroying the marriage. The behaviours have become mutinous, dangerous, destructive.

To turn that around, each partner needs to take a long and careful look at their current / present behaviours, at how they speak to each other, at how they respond to the perception of rejection. They need to honestly ask themselves, “If I continue to act, think, or speak in this manner, can I reasonably expect our marriage to last?”

If the answer is, “No,” then the next question becomes, “What am I going to do about it?”

This has nothing to do with what’s fair. 

It has nothing to do with who did wrong first, or who has done the most wrong. This has to do with recognising that the marriage is dying. This has to do with a willingness, and a maturity to do what is necessary to bring about a return to health.
