I think he really does. He gave such as lovely speech regarding Ramadan in an effort to placate those who want to destroy his nation and his people. I think he really is that naive.
A well armed group wants to destroy his nation and Mr. President really believes that if he just talks nice to these people, sucks up in a most pathetic manner that the Muslim world will change its mind about destroying the U.S. and taking everything its citizens hold dear. I know, Mr. President isn’t talking to THOSE Muslims. He’s talking to the majority who go to work every day like everyone and try to mind their own business but that’s precisely the problem.
Most of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims simply ignore the commands of their holy book to kill infidels where ever they may be found. And if ALL Muslims were slackers in the faith everything would be fine. But they aren’t all slackers - are they? A significant and growing number have blood on their minds and world political dominance in their will. Which brings us to reality.
Where ever you go in the world, be it Indonesia or England or the Netherlands or in a couple decades in the United States and Canada, the result is and will be the same. The same slacker Muslims that are afraid to speak out against their purist religious brothers and sisters who are killing and maiming and gaining control abroad, are exponentially MORE afraid to speak out when these purists bring Sharia to the country in which the slackers (we call them moderates) are now living. Slacker Muslims in North America who are even now bullied, no terrorised, into silence as members of their faith kill innocents abroad will simply rise up and join the terrorist (read Sharia) Islamic religious leaders when those leaders bring the terror to your own front door. If slacker Muslims won’t even stand up to Muslim terrorists half a world away, while someone else is willing to do the dirty work for them, they sure aren’t going to do it when it's time for them to step up or die in this country.
Make no mistake, the Muslims living down the street may be nice enough folks, but when it’s your head that’s being cut off to appease the will of Allah, they will draw the blinds and lock the doors.
Either we take the fight to Sharia, or Sharia will bring the fight to us.
Obama talks about all the values that we hold in common with Islam. Sharia lovers hold nothing in common with me. Not their hatred for and desire to see the elimination of Jews. Not their distain for women. Not their fear of education or culture. Not their racism and intolerance. Nothing.
I think Obama means well when he tries to appease those whose ONLY goal is to destroy America - or is that my naivete?

BTW the Qur'an does not use the term infidel.
Well, I know that you're smart enough to know and educated enough to know that none of God's commands that were geared to establishing both His people and a country for His people apply to us today.

I don't need to demonize Islam. The Qur'an does that for me. There is NOTHING in the Qur'an that indicates that what Mohammed told his followers then does not apply now.
Sura 4:89 “seize them and slay them wherever you find them: and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Sura 9:5)
Sura 4:101 “When ye travel through the earth, there is no blame on you if ye shorten your prayers, for fear the Unbelievers May attack you: For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies.”
Sura 8:59-60 “The unbelievers should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”
9.123 “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you”
Sura 8:57 “So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.”
There are dozens and dozens and dozens more verses just like these telling pure Muslims to kills Jews and Christians and to break any peace treaties with unbelievers is they refuse to convert to Islam.
You need to get out more. And you need to read your Bible more. I can make up a similar list from the Bible. The one you say you believe is the inspired Word of God. It is Tit for Tat, end of discussion.

ReplyDeleteI agree, but ONLY as it applies to God establishing His people in a country chosen by Him for them. After that the New Covenant takes over, a covenant which says, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, pray for those who persecute you.
Any Christians who have done otherwise have done so in violation of what God said.
As a former Pastor, you KNOW this, but choose to mislead people. Why is that?

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would add, which you probably know much better than I, is that God chose at this one point in history to judge the unspeakably wicked inhabitants of Canaan, and he happened to use the Israelites to do so, thus simultaneously giving them the land that He had promised their forefathers. But he made it abundantly clear to them that this was not because of any superiority of theirs, but rather because of God's love for them, based solely on His election and calling. He also made it abundantly clear that if they rebelled against Him, that they would suffer a similar fate:
Deuteronomy 4: 4 After the LORD your God has driven them out before you, do not say to yourself, "The LORD has brought me here to take possession of this land because of my righteousness." No, it is on account of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is going to drive them out before you. 5 It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the LORD your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 6 Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
In Leviticus 18, after warning against a long litany of detestable practices that were common in Canaan, the Lord elsborates:
24 " 'Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled. 25 Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But you must keep my decrees and my laws. The native-born and the aliens living among you must not do any of these detestable things, 27 for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled. 28 And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
Once the nation was established, God made it clear that they were to be kind to the alien, and they were to be a light to the Gentiles (i.e., non-Israelites). There was never any permanent or standing command to kill non-Jews or non-belieers. Their role was to be a blessing to the nations.
For the most part, they failed miserably in that role until the arrival of the Ultimate Descendant of Abraham and David, who sacrificed His life on the cross to reconcile all nations and all peoples to Himself, to turn them into one holy nation, filled with people of every tongue nation and tribe, who not only love each other, but who are also called to love their enemies.
