As Bret Has Pointed Out . . .

“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works,” James 2:17,22

We are saved by faith in Jesus alone, but true saving faith will be validated by a lifestyle that testifies to the reality of faith. True saving faith will always lead to obedience. Where there is no Holiness, there is no Holy Spirit.

  1. Good deeds without faith are still appreciated by those who receive them. That's been good enough for me, without having to dangle the reward of eternal bliss out there. The threat of hell doesn't frighten me either way.

That's true and should be done, at the very least, for that reason.

After years of working as a counsellor, I can tell right off that you're a very brave man.
