Store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven

“Face to face with reality, and especially the reality of evil, the faith that understands why it has come to trust must rest where it has not come to understand.”

Life is difficult and suffering is a mystery. But faith, knowing that it believes because of Love freely given, can tolerate mystery.

  1. Hello again,

One last comment before I stop to write here, for a little while at least.

I am sure you noticed that I always write more than you, it's just in my nature to not be able to let go, I like to address each point one by one...

I am also sure that the reason why you write less is because you purposely avoid things for various reasons. Perhaps you don't understand, perhaps I am not clear enough, perhaps you don't want to admit you were wrong, etc...

Recently, I decided to save on the side things I asked you to correct and that you did not, or things I exposed to you and for which you did not come back, just to see how quickly such a list would grow. I call it a list of concession because if you don't reply, I consider that what I wrote was correct. Moreover, I love to be corrected because I know I learned something. Therefore, I decided to put that list up here for you to see. Perhaps you'll now correct your mistakes; perhaps you'll correct mine. In any case, I think it's good food for thought, and I think it shows that you tend to be very arrogant for a humble Christian. The fact that you never ever correct any blatant mistakes you make, and often accuse me of being slow of mind, dull of thought, dishonest and so on, tells a lot more about you than me... You don't understand atheists Rod, so it's time for you to stop pretending otherwise.

    List of concessions:

    - You lied about asserting Hitchens claimed that Evil exists as an entity

    - Jesus performing 'real magic tricks' is indistinguishable from 'miracles'

    - The universe does operate within the bounds of the laws of physics

    - God can change moral standards at any time

    - God can ask people to violate the moral code

    - You assume that there was always something instead of nothing and then, because God has to be the creator of everything, God must be the only thing which is infinite. God is thus the only infinite thing that actually exists; an exception.

    - You don't understand what a singularity represents

    - You don't know any outspoken atheists personally

    - The materialist position and the atheist position reject faith-based positions

    - The rejection of theism, atheism, is a consequence of scepticism applied to claims of religions

    - You cannot name a single thing that I believe in that is influenced by my disbelief in gods

    - You don't care about contents of natural history museum or have not visited any

    - You cannot suspend your belief in God, in Jesus, in the 'supernatural-immaterial-spiritual world you cannot even define' in order to come up with the exact same views on everything you believe in. You pre-suppose God; you have faith in God first.

    - Objective morality simply equals God's flawless opinion; it's thus subjective by definition
