Amphetamines or Love?

There was a new volunteer at The Bridge today. The way she bounced around the room shaking people’s hands and asking them their names and telling them how much God loves them, I first thought she must either be on amphetamines or running for City Council.

Turns out the only thing she was high on was Jesus’ love. She was one of those hand waving charismatic types but a nice person nevertheless. She’d brought her five teenage daughters with her and al of them were hard workers. They didn’t seem embarrassed by their over-the-top mother. Guess they were used to her.

I’ll give her this. That girl could haul a mess of soup and coffee and love.

“As you have done it for the least of these My children, you have done it for Me.”
