When You Observe Atheists . . .

As I watch atheist organisations in the United States, as they throw their weight around, whether it's attacking Cheer Leaders for putting Bible verses on their Crash Screens, or whether it's stopping High School football teams from eating their pregame meal in a Church, I begin to think:

"If this is what atheists are like when they hold only 2 or 3 percent of the popular vote, it not hard to understand how 90 million Christians could disappear in the 20th century alone, when atheists hold total power."

For a reminder, see the following:

  1. That's another good example of bigotry. You take a few things that you disagree with and extrapolate to extreme proportions. You have no reason to do so except a projection of your own hatred onto the group of people who did the thing you disagree with.

A non-bigot would simply point out why it's wrong for these groups to have done what they did...

  2. I disagree and I think that history proves my point. And if you understood human nature you could see my point. The only way to get rid of Christianity, and that IS the goal of leaders in the atheist movement, is to get rid of Christians. There is no other way. And even that won't work but rabid atheists - not you - but you'll never be a leader in the movement - but those who want to be and perhaps some day will be leaders, will find that elimination of "Christians" is the only hope of getting rid of Christianity.

Look at China! They have the same policy that moderate atheists in North America are pushing for. "Don't allow children to be taught about Jesus until they are 18 and then they won't choose Jesus." Surely you're aware of leaders in the atheist movement calling teaching children about Jesus "child abuse."

Yet China has the fastest (well Cuba is right behind) growing Christian population in the world. You think the stuff that I say about atheist leaders is wrong because it doesn't describe what you're feeling. Well guess what. It doesn't matter what you think. It only matters what those striving for power think. And it's those people who testify in court, under oath, that simply looking at a steel beam in the shape of a cross causes them physical and emotional harm.

Take your head out of the sand Hugo. Stalin and Marx et al. are not isolated individuals. Their evil lurks inside all of us. All it takes to make it come spewing out is opportunity and power.

This statement is supposed to be supported by examples such as:

Take your head out of the sand Hugo. Stalin and Marx et al. are not isolated individuals.

Therefore, the 'history' you are talking about is the fact that some dictators, who were atheists, committed atrocities.

Yes that's true; they were terrible people and Atheists. Ok, let's see how 'history' support what you wrote about today's Atheists:

[they are] attacking Cheer Leaders for putting Bible verses on their Crash Screens, or whether it's stopping High School football teams from eating their pregame meal in a Church

So your point is that because a few Atheists, as a minority, do these things, the next step, if there were more of them, would be to become monsters like the historical figures you mentioned. You really think that this is logical?

Please find your head Rod; it seems to be gone.

    Wait, that's not all?

The only way to get rid of Christianity, and that IS the goal of leaders in the atheist movement, is to get rid of Christians.

First of all, people don't care as much about religion as you think. Getting rid of Christianity might be the goal of some Atheists but the first step, which actually matters, is to get rid of the influence of Christianity on politics, science and education.

Second point, WAY MORE IMPORTANT, getting rid of Christianity does not mean getting rid of Christians! Not at all! The fact that you confused the two in the same sentence shows how illogical you are. For you the two are inseparable because of your emotional attachment to your religion. That's why you are not able to think straight about it.

I dare you to find Atheists, not isolated and actually supported by others, who claim that we should get rid of Christians, the people. I have never ever heard of that. But be my guest, you do read way more Atheists blogs than I do, so perhaps you'll find some that are crazy enough to think like that...

"Don't allow children to be taught about Jesus until they are 18 and then they won't choose Jesus." No I never heard that.

What I did hear though is someone like Richard Dawkins state that an English speaker who has never read the Bible is missing one of the most important piece of literature ever written.

What I did hear also is that it borderline child abuse to constantly remind a child that if they misbehave and/or don't accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they will burn in Hell forever and ever.

In other words, there are ways to teach Jesus' teachings without being so blunt and scary about it. There are ways to tone down the atrocities of the Bible in order to teach kids. There are ways to focus on the position, love your neighbor, honor your parents, etc... instead of threats of eternal torments.

Don't you know that some people, even after they stop believing in God, keep fearing Hell and have nightmares about it? Thankfully most of them seem to grow out of it but that's what people are talking about when they claim that it's child abuse.

    Over-simplification is much easier though:
Atheists say talking about Jesus is child abuse!!!!!

...Their evil lurks inside all of us. All it takes to make it come spewing out is opportunity and power.

Oh ya and about that human nature thing; yes I know what you mean. It just has nothing to do with your Jesus-lovers VS Atheists fight...
