The spiritual expert is not that way consciously because the very nature of spiritual instruction is that it is unconscious of itself; it is the life of a child, manifesting obedience, not ostentation. Jesus describes the spiritual expert in Matthew 18:4 - “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatness in the kingdom of heaven.”
