"The Greatest of Sinners"

That is a term that the apostle Paul used of himself. I dare say that the majority of those who have genuinely experienced God’s salvation would be willing to argue with Paul on that count. I know I would.

Jesus came into the world to save sinners. That my perfectly Holy King would die for me is something that amazes me almost every day. A lying, corrupt, self-centred, hypocrite. A man who has hurt uncounted people. A man who is dishonest to the core. Mean, unloving, perhaps unable to love. While unlike Paul I have not literally killed anyone, it is only by accident.

And yet here I am. I'm loved by the greatest Love in the universe.
Altogether undeserving, Jesus treats me as though I deserve His love.
Altogether unworthy, Jesus loves me as though I was the most godly man on the planet.

How can a person not be blown away by Grace and Mercy and Love shown to such a sinner as me?

If you allow Him, Jesus will do the same for you.

“Amazing love, how can it be?
That you my King would die for me.”

  1. Wow... just wow... you were that terrible before finding Jesus? I hope you are purposely being hard on yourself in order to make a point.

In any case, it's much better to be an ignorant bigot than a "lying, corrupt, self-centred, hypocrite. A man who has hurt uncounted people. A man who is dishonest to the core. Mean, unloving, perhaps unable to love"

So once again, I am glad you became a Christian!
