God Shows Compassion For Atheist Norway

No one comes to Jesus unless God draws that person to Jesus and people find Jesus through hearing The Word – The Bible.

Interestingly, the Bible is currently the top selling Book in Norway, selling more copies than previous #1 sellers like Justin Bieber’s autobiography and “Fifty Shades of Grey”

Even in theatres Christianity has become hugely popular in Norway. For example, “Abraham’s Children,” opened last year and has sold 52,000 tickets, outselling “Evita” in Norway.

Hopefully atheists in North America will be given another chance as well.

Atheists and Sadness

My view of humanity is dropping like a rock. All things being equal, I've only got 10 to 15 years left on this planet and my despair over how stupid we are is peaking way too early.

Last week I saw an atheist blog where the author proudly asked, “Has any Christian ever asked why the names of the New Testament writers are Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul and so on?” This atheist thought that he had stumbled on a sure fire case of Bible tampering because he saw names that sounded “nothing like Middle Eastern names.”

I had to quickly click to a different blog because reading that made my sadness plummet even further. I think I felt a tear run down my cheek.

I suppose I should have returned to point out, “Did you notice that none of the other words in your Bible are in Greek either? You see, you're reading an English translation of documents originally written in Greek. Therefore you're reading names that are English derivatives of Greek names which may have also come from Hebrew or Aramaic names.”

I couldn't go back. Sometimes atheist bloggers just break my heart for the condition of humanity.

Now, don't get me wrong. Christians, including me have said really stupid things as well. But as every atheist knows, we Christians are stupid. It's expected of us. Why even Richard Dawkins has stated, “Thinking is anathema to Christians.”

It's Brights who love to show off their Beautiful Minds, just like Justin Bieber likes to stroll half naked through airports to show off his beautiful body.

The Genius of Justin Bieber

Did you know that kid is not only a pop icon? He is also the brains behind the Bieberbach conjecture. I'm sure you already know this, but for the couple people who may not have heard, the Bieberbach conjecture is one of the great unsolved problems in mathematics, just a couple notches below Fermat's last theorem.

What a mind Justin Bieber has! No wonder girls have his posters all over their rooms.

Bieber Calls Americans Evil

Honestly? I think he was joking. It can be fun to poke Superman in the eye. We know Americans aren’t any more evil than anyone else - which means - quite a lot. On the other hand, that doesn’t mean that Americans aren’t inherently different from Canadians like Bieber.

For what it’s worth, Wendy and I took the kids to the Bieber movie yesterday. One Hundred ($100.00) dollars for five kids and two adults. And that’s on cheap Tuesday! And that’s sharing drinks and popcorn!! I know, it’s our own fault for having so many kids but still . . .

Back to how Canadians and Americans are different.

The main difference is that Americans have a deep distrust of their government. I don’t know what percentage it is but it seems like many, if not most Americans have this crazy idea that their government might lie to them from time to time.

In Canada we have no such fears. We know our government lies to us. In fact, we’d be surprised if they didn’t lie to us. That our government manipulates us with truthy statements is taken for granted and we move through life taking this fact into account.

We aren’t shocked when a Member of Parliament cheats on h/her spouse.
That’s what corrupt people do!

Didn’t pay their taxes?
Duh!

Took bribes?
Yes, and?

Oh sure, this one or that one might have to resign h/her post for a really big crime, but Canadians don’t feign surprise that the sin of another person has been found out. It’s who we are and we accept that. There is no delusion of a moral majority existing in Canada.

And for those few noble souls who get into government for reasons other than to promote their own agenda and line their own pockets, the tidal wave of corruption that flows from the majority swamps their efforts to do the right and avoid the wrong, so the result is the same.

We up the taxes to pay for the leakage and life goes on.
