Of Camels and Prophecy

There's been some chatter on the internet lately. Both Time and CNN carried the story. Apparently the Bible can't be trusted because, according to the writer, Abraham had Camels before it is believed that people had tamed Camels. So there!

The solution to why the Bible says what it does, again according to the writer, is that these accounts were written 100's of years after the events in question.

Well, until God opens our spiritual eyes, we can't believe or understand what the Bible says to us so . . .

Regardless, these doubters run into a bit of a problem (they can't see it, but the problem is there nevertheless) when it comes to prophecy of Jesus. By the time these prophecies came true, the Old Testament had already been translated into Greek. They were not written hundreds of years after the fact. So . . .

What is the probability of the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah being fulfilled? Contained in the Old Testament, there are more than 300 specific prophecies alone that concerned Jesus, the promised coming Messiah. These were written from 450 to more than 2,000 years before his birth. It's been mathematically calculated that the probability of just 8 of the more than 300 prophecies being fulfilled by chance is 1^1017. Anything greater than 1^50 is generally considered to be beyond natural possibility.

Progressive Colorado

As they say, “Reality is for people who can't handle drugs.” And there are a lot of people who avoid reality at all cost. The solution?

Legalize Pot > Reduce Crime > Heal Society

And when the cost of avoiding reality is simply a willingness to inhale the smoke of what is essentially a health inducing plant, why would you do otherwise? In fact, smoking Pot is such a healing way to face life, even motherhood is improved while under the influence. Colorado will soon be the best State in which to be a child.

So say the State's drug addicts.

I saw four women (mothers) on CNN awhile back. These mothers were being interviewed by Piers Morgan, and they were singing the praises of smoking dope. This shouldn't surprise. Drug addicts always speak highly of their drug of choice. These women swear up and down that smoking dope makes them better mothers. And it got me to thinking. Just how crappy a mother do you have to be, that being stoned on Pot (a drug that in many ways makes you experience reality like a schizophrenic) makes you a better parent?

. Just how addicted does a person have to be to rationalize driving your child to day-care while impaired by marijuana? If you say you aren't impaired by marijuana, you're either smoking the worst weed ever grown or you're a flat out liar.

Which leads to the age old question: How do you know if a drug addict is lying? If her lips are moving.

. Just how addicted does a person need to be to think that ingesting all the carcinogens of tobacco plus a whole host of new ones (have you ever seen a cigarette ooze tar?) is a good idea to model for your children?

. Just how crappy does your reality have to be that you need to use drugs that turn your soul to ice.
. And just how pathetic is your emotional life that you'll believe that drug induced feelings of love are the real thing?

Nevertheless for many, Colorado is seen as a progressive state. It's ending a foolish War on Drugs that wastes money and lives. This is accomplished by simply making that which was once against the law, legal. It makes perfect sense. And as many would logically intuit, it's good as far as it goes, but it obviously doesn't go far enough. Obviously we must now legalize cocaine, and heroin, and meth. And don't forget about Ecstasy. Organized Crime makes a bunch off Ecstasy. And why should gangs make money off of prostitution and human trafficking and slavery? Legalize that crap and reap the benefits of taxation from it.

If we are to ever stand a chance of putting criminals out of business, we must decriminalize what criminals are doing. Just think of all the schools and hospitals and roads and dams that could be built if the government took control of and taxed these harmless forms of seeking pleasure.

Mothers For Marijuana

I saw four women (mothers) on CNN the other night. These mothers were being interviewed by Piers Morgan, and they were singing the praises of smoking dope.

This is the coming future of humanity, and to me the future looks grim.

Evolution Points To God

On CNN last night, Don Lemmon asked some preacher what evidence there was for God's existence, and the Pastor said, "There isn't any."

Wow! What a scientifically ignorant statement. Of course, you don't have to be a Pastor to say stupid things. Leaders of atheism are also able to travel that road.

Richard Dawkins says that evolution, or natural selection as it is often called allows him to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist.

Natural selection allows nothing of the sort. Atheism has always been and always will be an anti-intellectual, anti-science, irrational and brutishly illogical means of denying the obvious – a supernatural Creator of the universe exists, and this Creator exists necessarily.

(Necessarily: It can't NOT exist)

For if natural selection is true, it is true only because the universe was designed (with a Creator's intent and purpose) in a way that allows natural selection generally and life itself specifically to exist. The theory of evolution does absolutely nothing to do away with the existence of Creator God.

Because of that, the world-view called atheism remains as incoherent and irrational as it always was, even before this pseudo evidence for the non existence of a Creator was invented.

The facts of adaptation and natural selection have always been before us. Atheism has just given them a new and incongruous, non sequitur (natural selection exists therefore God does not) type of interpretation.

Richard Dawkins and those who share his views also share a VERY low intellectual fulfilment threshold.

I Give Up

Much of what passes for News is just so very stupid. Here’s an example. I saw on CNN that “For emotional health we need to be touched twelve times a day.”

Think about that!

What kind of study could possibly definitively conclude that we need to be touched twelve times a day?

Here’s what probably happened.

Some CNN reporter was at a party and he met a person who worked in the Behavioural Psychology Department at a local university. You know, the place where they pull habits out of rats.

It came up that this person had been observing how important it is to our emotional health that we receive regular physical contact. Always on the lookout for a career defining story, the reporter asked, “How many times a day do we need to be touched?”

Sensing that he was in he was in the presence of the village idiot, the Psychologist looked the reporter squarely in the eye and said, “Twelve.”

Off scooted the little man, and in the middle of the night he banged out his Pulitzer Prize Winning story. An editor at CNN looked at the story and thought, “This doesn’t stink too badly,” passed it on to who ever gets this kind of crap printed and there it is - a story that turns me off news for ever.

I can’t take it any more.
I’m done.
I give up on reading the news.
