To say that Israel doesn’t care about peace while at the same time ignoring the reality of Palestinian authority’s repeatedly rejecting every peace deal that Israel has offered shows the bigotry that Israel is up against. Not only do the Muslims reject the peace offers, they respond with terror and the incitement of hatred.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas describing what would happen if a Palestinian State was created. Yet it is Israel who is accused of being an “apartheid” state even though Israel allows Arabs to enjoy full citizenship, including representation in its parliament.
As Benjamin Netanyahu said, “If Arabs put down their weapons tomorrow there would be no more war. If Israelis put down their weapons tomorrow, there would be no more Israel.”

This whole topic saddens me. I used to be 100% pro-Israel, but I've changed my mind in recent years as I've learned more of the other side of the story. It's just frustrating.
ReplyDeleteVery frustrating! I haven't read your profile so I don't where you're coming from. From where I sit, Israel has never been "in the right," or obedient to God, etc. but like any of God's children, we remain His. That is why, without condoning the wrong that Israel does, I will support Israel because I believe they are indeed God's chosen nation.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can agree with some of that, but not OKing the injustice that Israelis do to their neighbors. I simply don't believe God would be fine with the way they treat others. I have friends who are living there now and so I hear how the situation is from a more balance point of view than I would hear from Christian Zionist preachers/others and the media which is quite pro-Israel in this country.
ReplyDeleteGod has standards for loving one's neighbors and the Israelis are not living that way so I cannot support their racism and hatred and I don't think God means for us to support that either. Hate the sin, love the sinner kind of thing.
