We
have means of inferring the existence of a supernatural world only
when it interferes with us. This is often the case with suffering
and tragedy.
As C. S. Lewis once said, God shouts to us through the
megaphone of pain.
Ironic,
isn’t it?
The
very thing that Jesus uses to increase the faith of the faithful, He
also uses to eliminate any potential faith of the faithless.
