A Devoted Life

A devoted friend draws out a life that is devoted to increasing communication.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2.

It’s incredible just how much of the Bible is dedicated to describing prayer; either written copies, or prayers said, or talking about the principle of prayer.

I remember a Pastor saying something like, “If something is mentioned in the Bible once, pay attention. If it’s mentioned twice or more, pay close attention.” Communion with our Creator is very important to our emotional and spiritual well-being. If prayer plays a large role in the Bible, it needs to be a large role in our lives as well.

Pray always.

That’s a command from Paul, someone who knew that to walk with God is to talk with God. The longer I walk with God the more important I realize my prayer life to be. Thank you Father for revealing yourself to us through Creation, through Your Word, through Your Spirit.
