Some
people, those who are extremely ignorant of what the Gospel accounts
of Jesus' life say, sometimes wonder aloud if Jesus ever claimed to
be God. Space does not allow me to document all the places that Jesus
clearly and decisively made that claim. Suffice it to say that those
who had Him killed for the blasphemy of calling Himself God heard it
often enough and clearly enough to make the charges stick.
“If
you have seen Me, you have seen Father God.”
As
we’ve completely run out of men and women with integrity to run
things in the West, and the top prize now goes to the person with the
biggest bankroll, it’s comforting, to me at least, to know that all
of Jesus’ words and deeds were carefully designed to answer once
and for all time how a leader will look when God is in charge.
"If you have seen Me, you have seen Father God"
ReplyDeleteThat's not what John 14:9 says. You deliberately added "God". Jesus' divinity was pretty controversial from the beginning within the Christian churches. There were good arguments for giving him only Prophet's status. Especially for theologically versed Christian Jews the idea of a human being God at the same time was unacceptable. Paul fixed that by opening the church to uncircumcised gentiles, whose native polytheism allowed for such mixing, and the concept of sons of god.
