So
I just saw this News item on CTV where a man from British Columbia is one
of 1,000 finalists out of 200,000 applicants for heading out
at some point to “colonize the Planet Mars.”
CTV thought it right and good to interview this man; to probe this thoughts regarding this adventure.
I don't know what happens to you when you read about these people. I can tell you that my own thoughts grow dark and malefic. What drives my gloomy cynicism toward these . . . people, is that they always seem to compare themselves to explorers coming to the New World, i.e. North and South America.

Well, it isn't exactly comparable - is it?
These Mars bound simians forget, no, they completely ignore the fact
that there were hundreds of thousands of people already living in the New
World.
North America and in
fact planet earth is made for human life.
Earth sustains our
existence.
We thrive here.
You get the picture?
In
fact so unlike coming to America is a trip to Mars that I fully
support any program that takes ALL the people, not just a few, not
even 1,000 but all 200,000 applicants who think they can build a
community on Mars – stick them on a rocket, or as many rockets as
it takes and get these admittedly sanguine yet deeply atavistic
humans off of planet earth as soon as possible.
