How’d He Do That?

Besides through the obvious creation of the universe (Romans 1:18,20), God has made Himself known to us through the person of Jesus. Because of our fallen nature, on our own, we deny the true character of Jesus and misinterpret the Bible to suit our own desires.

As sinners, we naturally resist every form of God’s revelation. Only through the transforming nature of a healed and forgiven relationship with God can we come to know our Saviour and Creator as He desires us to know Him. This is:
. A redemptive knowledge
. A changing knowledge
. A transforming knowledge.

The very Spirit of the living God subdues our rebellious nature and replaces it with a nature eager to know God and to be known by God.

This is something that only God can do. Only God has the power to change a person from someone who denies God’s existence or God’s relevance, to someone who worships Creator God. No human can bring this about on h/her own.

“It does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.” Romans 9:16.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8

“He saved us not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.” Titus 3:5

"From before the beginning of time God knew who would accept His offer of forgiveness. Those God foreknew He predestined, He drew to, He called to, He brought to Jesus so that they could be one day be transformed and conformed to the likeness of Jesus. Romans 8:29

“No one comes to faith in Jesus except those whom God has drawn to Him.” John 6:44

  1. And alllll that "knowledge" ultimately comes from... a book.

You believe in your God because he made it so, since apparently only God can do it, and you know that it works that way because of that one book, and that one book is true because your God told you so, and you know your God told you so because only God could do it, etc etc etc...

add a little personal experience, stir for a few years... Congrats!! you're a fundamentalist Christian who believes that the thought in his heads are so special that they must be God-given! This is evidence for God. This is the ultimate proof. No non-believer can understand because they are non-believers and God made them so.

Wow Rod, you must feel so special to be a chosen one. I wish I were as cool as you.

  2. “No one comes to faith in Jesus except those whom God has drawn to Him.”

That's right folks, if you go to Hell it's because God wants you to go to Hell. You have no choice in the matter.

  3. before the beginning of time

Could you explain this to me? Forgive my clumsy inability to mentally render ideas of a pre-temporal nature.

  4. I'm having a little difficulty understanding your text. You declare that there's nothing WE can do to become "saved", it's "not up to us." AND then you ALSO say that God PREDETERMINED our fate "before time". I'm wondering how you can believe in free will and this, simultaneously? If god determined our fate, how can we determine it? If you could just clarify this pesky confusion for me I'll humbly slither back into my atheist hole, thanks.

  5. "You have no choice in the matter."

It's sad how you purposely ignore the parts that point to personal responsibility. You're like Gandolf who weeps and wails and plays the pitiful victim, saying he can't accept until someone fixes his past?

Do I feel special? Not at all. I feel grateful. Extremely grateful. I have done nothing to deserve God's salvation. Nothing!
I'm grateful for an amazing grace that saved a wretch like me.

The same salvation that was offered to me has been offered to you as well. The only difference between the two of us is that I've accepted this offer of forgiveness and you, at least to date, have not.

God most certainly does not want you to go to Hell.

"I take no delight in the death of the wicked. So turn to Me and live."

Like I've said before, if you wind up in hell, you'll have had to step over Jesus' dead body to get there.

"Could you explain this to me?"
    Google Big Bang Cosmology

  6. Oh, sorry to bother you mak, but I'm having difficulty understanding something. You say we're "fallen" and deny god. However, if god predetermined the sequencing of all action in the universe beforehand while stipulating it impossible for Any individual to "know" god unless god himself wills it, then by extension, is it not god simply denying "himself"? If you would grace me with your extensive knowledge on this matter I would vastly appreciate it, thanks.

  7. And what should I expect to find after googling big bang cosmology? Are you referring to how general relativity predicts a loving being that exists "outside time" and answers finite prayers? Or was it maxwells equations that made that prediction? Laplace? Newton? Hawking and penrose? Is this a product of quantum gravity by which you alone have a theory for? Please, grace me with your answer.

  8. Oh, and i neglected to mention that big bang cosmology says nothing about a universe void of a temporal dimension, quite the opposite. Try again.

  9. How can someone be personally responsible for actions that were determined for them? Nobody is ignoring your silly writing, you just have a hard time understanding free will. Post after post after post, you just can't wrap your head around it. How tiresome.... I think this is because freewill blatantly cannot exist under your contention and your doing all you can to avoid coming to terms with it. It's sad watching you stumble all over the subject. But don't let me stop you, please continue.

  10. If I wind up in hell I have to step over jesus' dead body? But didn't you just say that only god can determine whether we accept "him" or not? So if it wasn't my choice, then was it not god that did the stepping for us? I think you should reread YOUR OWN post.

Filtering the evidence to fit the theory? Check.

Unwilling to take responsibility for his own actions? Check.
