24 hours at my place

So - I turned 60-years-old yesterday.

Breakfast, Sunday morning:
My 10-year-old asks, “How old are you today dad.”
“I’m 60.”
“Are you going to die soon?”
“No I’m not going to die soon. I don’t know. Nobody knows when they’re going to die.”

Bedtime, Sunday:
“How old are you dad?”
“I’m 60-years-old. Six Zero.
“Are most people dead by 60"
“Nooo most people aren’t dead. What the hecks the matter with you. Go to sleep!”

Breakfast, Monday morning:
“Are you 60-years-old dad?”
“Yes Riley. I’m 60-years-old.”
“Will you still be alive when summer comes?”
“You’re not going to be alive when summer comes if you don’t quit this stupid talk about me dying! Get your stuff on and go to school.”

  1. What a surprise, a kid raised in a fundamentalist Christian household is obsessed by death at the age of 10!

    Good job Rod!

  2. (not that it would happen only in Christian household by the way, I prefer to specify since your retarted mind might jump to that right away)

  3. About this particular son:

    He’s ten years old chronologically.

He’s about four years old emotionally.

He’s in the bottom 5th percentile intellectually.

He’s had four elderly relatives die in the last 12 months.

Even he gets what you can’t.

By the way, while his questions were asked as written, my “comments” in the post were only my thoughts.

  4. Sorry, I had forgotten that you take care of children with disabilities.

    My apologies!

  5. I don’t see any need to apologise. If you believe what you wrote then write it.
