Comedy Central can’t back down

After the hoots and howls of derision that were thrown at Comedy Central for backing down in the face of threats from serious Muslims, how can CC possibly cave to the latest lament from Christians?

It’s been so long since anyone at CC has heard from their conscience, it’s unlikely that any Coalition of Christians appealing to CC’s sense of decency will do a lick of good. The situation is not helped by the fact that much of what passes for comedy today has little to do with humour and everything to do with mocking, disdain and demeaning those who hold that humans have worth and value and dignity.

The plans of CC to offend followers of Jesus as deeply as possible shows that the writers at CC are completely out of ideas. Yet the main audience for shows on CC, those with the emotional maturity of 14-year-old males knows no point of satiation when it comes to crud.

There’s money to be made from this segment of society and when there’s money to be made, any appeal to compassion or tolerance will be ignored.

After all, to appease followers of Jesus is to offend CC's main audience base - functional atheists to a person. And since those who follow Jesus rarely, if ever watch CC, the choice is clear.

Damn the torpedoes - Full speed ahead.

My advice to CC writers? Mock Jesus and ridicule those who are devoted to Him.
Let the world know what atheists are really like. You know, atheists, those people who don't need God in order to be nice people.

  2. Weird post... I watch the Colbert Report and the Daily Show quite often, never noticed that they were picking on Christians more than anything else... was there a show in particular who mock Christianity/Christians or what?

So much contempt. Though coming from someone who thinks Islam and atheism are almost exactly the same, your opinions pertaining to what atheists are "really" like, are fortunately not valuable.

  4. Seems like the validity of this question (which remains unanswered) keeps reasserting itself:

"You generalize and hold up straw men as being indicative of the beliefs and practices of hundreds of thousands of people.

    Why do you do this?"
