No Place To Land

In the account of the flood, we read of the dove being sent out but having to return to the ark because there was no place for it to land.

It’s the same for us. The world offers us no safe place to land. If we do not return to the ark of Jesus, we will die. And that is why we must remember to thank God, every day, for His protection and love and mercy and grace.

Relationships won’t fulfil our deepest desires. Neither will money or possessions or position or power or mood altering chemicals or looks or popularity and fame.

Lady Gaga recently said that when she is not performing she feels dead. A talk show host said that if the show goes well he feels good about who he is. If his jokes fall flat or mistakes are make he feels like a failure for days afterward.

Not even family or early retirement can give us what we need most. Nothing that the world offers, nothing that the world tells us is essential for “the good life” can satisfy our deep longings.

All God.

Only God.

Land safely in His arms. Don’t rest until you’ve claimed His promise of an intimate, healed and forgiven relationship with Him and life will never again be lacking.

Jesus said, “Take the water that I offer and you’ll never thirst again.”

I promise you, it's true.
