I can’t remember where it is, but there is some society, I’m guessing Africa, where people worship dung beatles.
Amazing isn’t it?
There is not a culture anywhere in the world, no matter how primitive or advanced whereby humans do not have a sense of awe and contemplation of deity.
Luther stated that humans must have God or they’ll invent an idol.
Even those who claim that God does not exist worship the very philosophy that makes that claim.
Be it a dung beatle, Creator God or yourself, you will worship something.

There is not a culture anywhere in the world, no matter how primitive or advanced whereby humans do not have a sense of awe and contemplation of what they don't fully understand.
Luther stated that humans must have God or they’ll invent an idol. He was wrong, no need to invent antyhing.
Even those who claim that God does not exist comtemplate the natural world they live in.
Be it the real world, an imaginary God or yourself, you will worship something.
You've got shit for brains, Hugo. And it's going to cost you - big time!
ReplyDeleteYou've got shit for brains, Hugo.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's coming from a man who...
- had to talk to a girl at a party when he was 30 years old to start thinking about philosophical questions.
- does not know how to discuss morality issues without resorting to "God said...".
- does not understand why putting double quotes ("abc def") around a sentence that is not a quote is dishonest and misleading for the reader.
- does not understand why his specific supernatural beliefs are no different from other superstitious beliefs of other religions.
- suffers from guilt and fear; and project that to others in an attempt to repent himself.
- threaten others of eternal punishment for not following the set of rules he dogmatically and irrationally adheres to.
- claims that people who do not believe in any god really believe in one, but just want to live differently, as if he knew them better than themselves.
And it's going to cost you - big time!
You think that big daddy in the sky is going to spank me for being naughty?
Ohhhhh, you're so cute!
You know, Hugo, if you keep talking like this to me, I might start to think that you don't repect me.
ReplyDeleteI don't repect no-one! I don't pect no-one, let do it more than once.
ReplyDeleteAh thank you. It's good to end the day with a laugh - even if it is at my expense. Good night brother.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Hugo, if you keep talking like this to me, I might start to think that you don't repect me.
ReplyDeleteI do; but again, too bad it does not go both ways!!
You've got shit for brains, Hugo. And it's going to cost you - big time!
You wish me bad things, I would never do that...
I don't have any respect for you beliefs though, that's for sure.
Plus I also think that you are far less intelligent than I previously thought when I first read your Makarios blog. I remember reading that you were a counselor, and that you accepted everything scientific methods teach us.
So it seemed at that point that you had "rational" reasons for your beliefs and would probably be the kind of believer who can compartmentalize his beliefs in a way that does not affect his views regarding the real world we live in. I was wrong I guess...
Side notes:
- You still owe me an apology
- You have yet to address the morality principles I presented to you
I don’t know why I’m bothering to do this Hugo, but I'm going to make three brief points:
ReplyDeleteFirst, I don’t owe you any apology. I said, Atheists say, “What’s right for me is right.” or something to that effect.
In your very next reply, you confirmed what I said. Nuff said.
==============
Second - “You have yet to address the morality principles I presented to you.”
That’s never going to happen. I can’t explain why without insulting you so you’ll just have to be satisfied with that.
===============
Third - “You wish me bad things, I would never do that...”
I don’t wish bad things for you Hugo. If that was the case I wouldn't warn you. I'd just let it happen.
Jesus loves you, Hugo. He provided, at His own expence a means by which you could escape eternal separation from you Creator. You have (at least to date) rejected that offer. As long as you hold to that position, serious consequences await you. You can mock that all you want but don’t blame me or God when it happens.
I don’t know why I’m bothering to do this Hugo, but I'm going to make three brief points:
ReplyDeleteYa, I say the same thing over and over again, I don't know what I make serious comments here...
First, I don’t owe you any apology. I said, Atheists say, “What’s right for me is right.” or something to that effect.

No problem; it was more of a joke anyway you know, but my sense of humour is somewhat too subtle to be inserted into blog posts like this... lol.
Plus what was funny is that you simply don't understand the idea that "what's right for me is right for me" does not mean, at all, that we should accept any actions done by anybody.

Second - “You have yet to address the morality principles I presented to you.”
That’s never going to happen. I can’t explain why without insulting you so you’ll just have to be satisfied with that.
Ya I know that you are too irrational to express an intelligent opinion regarding morality without resorting to God.
Feel free to use insults if you prefer; but you said you won't, too bad because I am a very curious person... probably why I like to learn about so many different subjects, including your particular set of christian fundamentalist beliefs.
You should make blog posts about all the other Christian denominations by the way, and explain to the world why YOURS and only YOURS is good, and why we should believe YOURS.
Tell me why I should deny my Catholic upbringing for example. Because if, hypothetically I were to believe in the Jesus' stories again, I would definitely be a moderate Catholic like the rest of the moderate believers in Québec, not a fundamentalist wacko Christian like you.

You don't warn me because you want my good, you warn me because you are a scared little kid who thinks that his big daddy in the sky is watching him and you want to do what's right for HIM, not for me.
You don't give a shit about me, you just want to do what's right in front of Jesus. And yet, as you said recently, you fail, and you fail and you fail. So you try to be nicer sometimes just to repent and feel better.
How is that called again? Oh ya, the guilt cycle...

Serious IMAGINARY consequences await me because I don't believe in YOUR particular god. You're pathetic... but at least you confirm over and over again that you are no different than any other person brainwashed by his religion.
And yes I will continue mocking such ridicule ideas. That's what they deserve, nothing else.
You're better than all this Rod.
