Do you know what it is? Are you tempted to say the oft repeated claim - “There is no hierarchy of sins.” eg. Homosexuality is not worse than lying. Stealing is not worse than adultery. Coveting is just as bad as murder.
That is what we’re taught - isn’t it?
Is that what Jesus teaches?
Well - Is it?
“One of them, an expert in the law, tested Him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Matthew 22:25-36
How about now? Do you still think there isn’t a hierarchy of sin?
In verse 37, “Jesus replied, '[The Greatest Commandment is] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength,”
If there is a hierarchy of commandments, and if this is the greatest or most important commandment, wouldn’t you expect that the greatest sin is NOT loving God with all your heart soul, mind and strength?
And what does this say to those who claim to be good people when this is the commandment out of all of them that they are LEAST likely to keep or to even think about?

Homosexuals are normal people and Jesus loves all the people He created! Homosexuality is NOT a sin!
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely correct. Jesus loves everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt would be pretty pathetic if we had to say to ourselves that our sin was not sin in order to believe that Jesus loved us.
Jesus loves everybody equally, that's why he wants to send people to hell, because they do not believe in him, because he loves everybody so much!
ReplyDeleteHere is a spiritual principle or law - listen carefully:
ReplyDelete"I take no delight in the death of the wicked. So turn from you sins and live."
Can you see it. Can you detect the law?
The wages of sin, the result of sin, the consequence of sin is eternal separation from God. It's called spiritual death. We, by our choice brought about that situation (You're still choosing it on a daily basis). Our relationship with God is broken and there is nothing that we can do to repair the damage.
God, through Jesus, because of love HAS provided a way for you and me and everyone to escape the consequences of sin BUT we - you and me and everyone has to ACCEPT the offer that is being made. God will not and cannot force you to spend eternity in heaven with Him.
The question then becomes, Why do you persist in rejecting this offer of reconciliation?
Love God or be tortured by Him forever.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think you have that's better by avoiding a forgiven relationship with your Creator?
ReplyDeleteI have reality.
ReplyDeleteSo you don't actually believe in God or hell? You're just ranting against God because . . .?
ReplyDeleteI'm neither of us really believe in gods.
ReplyDeleteHow does one pretend to love something that does not exist?
ReplyDeleteJust like you're doing!
