Atheists and sceptics are forever mocking the possibility that something - anything - could still be true after 2,000 years. Well, the ignorance of atheists is proverbial, however let’s double that # to 4,000 years.
In google blog search, type in Israel. Do that you’ll hear the voices of Ezekiel and Zechariah describing our daily News Broadcasts. What they say is true and relevant right down to the conflict regarding the bulldozing of settlements to make room for all the Jews returning home from around the world.
1948 was the first time since 70 A.D. that the people of Israel have been brought back to control their homeland.
Ezekiel - 37:21 (Written 597 years before the birth of Christ) - For the Lord God says, “I am gathering the people of Israel from among the nations and bringing them home from around the world to their own homeland, to unify them into one nation.”
Ezekiel 38:12 - “I will go to those once desolate cities that are now filled with people again, those who have returned from all the nations, and the whole earth revolves around them. This will happen in the distant future, in the latter years of history.
The new state of Israel now contains people who have come from 100 different countries, speaking 60 different languages and the trek homeward continues to this day.
Zechariah 12:2,3,7, & 9 (Written 520 years before the birth of Christ) - I will make Jerusalem and Judah like a cup of poison to all the nearby nations that send their armies to surround her. Jerusalem will be a heavy stone burdening the world and though all the nations of the world unite in an attempt to move her, they will all be crushed. For my plan is to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zechariah 2: 4 & 7 - Jerusalem will some day be so full of people she won’t have room enough for all. I scattered you to the winds, but I will bring you back again.
This is the whole problem with Palestine and Israel right now. There is not enough room for all of the Jews coming home and they are building settlements in Palestinian territory.
I, God, will comfort Zion,
comfort all her mounds of ruins.
I'll transform her dead ground into Eden,
her moonscape into the garden of God,
A place filled with exuberance and laughter,
thankful voices and melodic songs.
Isaiah 51:3
The prophecy of a country coming back into existence 2,000 years after disappearing from the world stage and 4,000 years after these events were foretold means nothing to atheists. They are committed to ignoring and rejecting anything and everything that shows their belief system faulty. I on the other hand find it pretty cool.
Long live Israel!
God bless Israel!

"Atheists and sceptics are forever mocking the possibility that something - anything - could still be true after 2,000 years."
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of statement is that? If something was true 2,000 years ago, then it is a historical fact, and is therefor still true.
"Do that you’ll hear the voices of Ezekiel and Zechariah describing our daily News Broadcasts."
Oh...bible "prophecy". I thought we were in for a history lesson, but instead, we are treated to the art of bending and molding ancient texts to fit what you want them to mean.
I wonder what percentage of Israel's current residents believe they are God's chosen people and they are living in and defending the Promised Land? For such a prophecy to be self-fulfilling all that is required is having enough people believe it for a long enough time period and be fanatical about fulfilling it. No divine intervention required.
ReplyDelete"No divine intervention required."
ReplyDeleteRight -
. The Roman Empire conspired to destroy Israel, as per prophecy
. Other nations of the world conspired to scatter the Jews, as per prophecy
. Germany conspired to commit a horrendous crime so that
. Other nations of the world would conspire to bring Israel back into being after disappearing for almost 2,000 years, as per prophecy
. So that this tiny nation could create such turmoil and dissention that all the nations of the world revolve around it and try to have it removed once again from the global scene, again, a per prophecy.
. and ALL this, say atheists, so that Old Testament prophecy could be brought to fruition.
Sure - that makes sense.
"Jerusalem will be a heavy stone burdening the world and though all the nations of the world unite in an attempt to move her, they will all be crushed."
ReplyDeleteOkey-dokey, what does this mean?
Has it happened already or can we expect in the not to distant future for Australia, Bhutan, Canada, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Grenada, Haiti (that's right, Haiti will sign on along with..) Ireland, etc, etc, etc, to fight against Jerusalem...correct?
I expect a post here at Thesauros with a hearty "I told you so" when this happens, OK?
(Sure - that makes sense.)
". and ALL this, say atheists, so that Old Testament prophecy could be brought to fruition."
ReplyDeleteI'm not suggesting the actions of other nations against the Jews or against Israel was done for the purpose of fulfilling OT prophecy. I'm suggesting a fanatical belief by a certain percentage of the global population that God promised them some land, and a corresponding fanatical desire by other segments of the population to drive them out of that land, is enough to ensure turmoil over that sliver of land for a long time.
Territorial disputes, foretold or not, do not seem like a very good argument for the existence of a supreme being.
