Atheists Think With Their Gut?

Richard Dawkins, one of the high priests of the atheist belief system (or at least he was until he started poo-pooing the “so called” negative effects of "mild" sexual abuse), has proposed that inanimate, inorganic gases evolved into a living replicating cell. This, even while he says, “I'm sceptical of strongly held beliefs in the absence of evidence.”
He's not alone in making hypocritical statements, all the while being completely oblivious that he's doing so.
This is very typical, virtually ubiquitous behaviour on the part of atheists.
Carl Sagan is said to have replied to someone pushing for an intuitive answer that Sagan wasn't prepared to give, “I prefer not to think with my gut.”
Dawkins says that he stands in awe at the genius of Sagan's “immortal” claim.
Yet Sagan is the man who said, “The universe is all that has ever existed or will ever exist.” Thinking with his gut made Sagan a strong believer in the now discredited and utterly refuted Steady State model of cosmology. Sagan claimed that the universe is all that has ever existed just as though that was something more than wishful thinking, or more precisely, just as though it was something other than drawing a conclusion directly from his gut.

That doesn't seem like “immortal” thinking to me.

Sagan's comment is not unlike Dawkins who says, again just as though it's something more than speculation, 'There is life evolving right now on one billion planets.' How does he know that? Well, he says that there are 100 billion planets in our galaxy, give or take, and deftly pulling a handy equation out of a hat he says that the odds of life spontaneously appearing from non life in just so conditions is one billion to one. Ergo, one billion planets with life evolving on them – and that's just in our neighbourhood. So how does Dawkins know those are the odds? How does he know the odds aren't 100 billion to one, or that it's simply impossible for life to arise spontaneously from non life without a Creator's help?
Well, he doesn't.
Richard Dawkins makes this stuff up as he goes. Just like he “dismisses” the concept of Creator God because Dawkins can only conceive of such a Being as manifestly complicated and any complicated Being would have had to evolve from a very simple state. Apparently, not only do inanimate gases evolve, but so do Spiritual Beings.
For atheists to say they don't think with their gut is a mockery of honesty. It's a characteristic that they'd like to project to the world. It's a character trait that they'd dearly love to believe is true about themselves, but it's one that is absolutely and completely false.

    Oxymoron...

inanimate, inorganic gases evolved into a living replicating cell

Google abiogenesis and you might learn a thing or two...
Hint: gases don't evolve into replicating things.

He's not alone in making hypocritical statements, all the while being completely oblivious that he's doing so.

Gross generalization of a group of people... Atheists do the same for Christians, saying that they are gullible and things like that. That kind of Atheists and yourself have a lot in common.

“The universe is all that has ever existed or will ever exist.” Thinking with his gut made Sagan a strong believer in the now discredited and utterly refuted Steady State model of cosmology.

You don't understand what Sagan meant. I explained that to you before because I think exactly like him. Are you lying on purpose or you simply forgot?

'There is life evolving right now on one billion planets.' How does he know that? [...]
    Well, he doesn't.

First, there are ways to give approximations. Look at this link:
    http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20120821-how-many-alien-worlds-exist
I ran into that and it reminded me of your post, so here I am!

Second, the belief that there is probably life somewhere out there is inconsequential to the way one lives his/her life. So why do you eve care?

“dismisses” the concept of Creator God because Dawkins can only conceive of such a Being as manifestly complicated

Is the God you believe in complicated or not?

The honest answer is 'I don't know', because one day you'll say that God is complicated, he (ya he has a gender) can interact with his creation, has a Jesus component, a Father component, a Holy Spirit component, can summon angels, demons, wait no that's Satan, can create universes and fine tune them as he wishes, etc....

Then, the next day, you will say that God is being itself, that God is Love, that God is Justice, that God is extremely simple, the source of all things...

    Spiritual Beings.

What's a spiritual being? This means absolutely nothing. Actually, scratch that, it does mean a lot. It means a being which is conceptual.

For atheists to say they don't think with their gut is a mockery of honesty.

Yes it is, I agree. Everybody think with their gut. The hard part is to NOT think with your gut when what seems obvious does not match reality, or when someone tells you 'huh no, you are wrong'. Then you need to pause and think. Isn't that what you suggest yourself?

    Think!
