Dazed and Confused

Oh those atheists. Have you ever seen such a bunch of incompetents? It's like the leaders are trying to shame and embarrass followers right back into the closet.
And have you noticed how they're all over the map on issues they consider important.
So fearful of their Creator that they must turn their gaze when walking near steal beams in the shape of a cross, lest they develop diarrhoea or become suicidal.

Although looking across the street and seeing a Mosque that represents the religion that inflicted the greatest act of terror in U.S. history doesn't seem to be a problem at all for atheists. Is that why whenever Christianity vacates to make room for atheism, Islam moves in to fill the religious void with not the slightest fuss from atheists?

So controlled by conspiracy theories that they wave their arms like chimpanzees and jump up and down in protest while demanding that high school kids never be allowed to eat food offered to them by Christians.
Driven by delusions of grandeur, David Silverman and Co. buzz around the country frantically looking for any place where government might be rubbing shoulders with Christianity. And while they're doing that in one part of the country, they're also, via the use of billboards, demanding that the Presidential candidates bring their spiritual beliefs to work, demanding that they bring government and religion together, so the beliefs these men hold dear can be mocked and ridiculed by the most intolerant among us.
And when the majority of people finally decide to ignore these whiney, petulant atheist leaders laying on the floor kicking their heels, these atheists cry, “You didn't mention my name and that makes me feel left out!”

    So Christian of you....

  2. Yes because when incompetents (or worse) masquerade as experts we should just look away and allow them to manipulate innocents.

Whoever does this should be exposed; false claims should be labelled as such, with supportive arguments.

However, that's not what you did.
Your post is a content-less rant.

"There will always be temptation to sin, but woe to h/her who does the tempting."

Are you suggesting that your 'atheists-are-like-chimpanzees' rant was triggered by evil atheists; hence the fault is mostly on them?

  4. Like another post said (can't remember who) a few days back, when it comes to picking leaders in the atheist movement, atheists seem to select for the worst in human nature. I used the word incompetent instead of worst, but my point was the same. Even other atheists are writing in expressing embarrassment over the action / direction that people like Silverman, Stephaneli, Myers and McCreate are taking.

You're right. It was a rant with little direction or content. As to atheist leaders acting like chimps over Christians feeding high-school sport teams, ya, I think that is evil and profoundly stupid and again, incompetent leadership that will only hurt their long term goal of acceptance of atheism.

  5. Ok... I simply don't know what you are talking about... I don't pay much attention to those you label as Atheists "leaders". For instance, I never heard the names Stephaneli and McCreate. Also did not hear about the high school thing you mention and don't see how this could be even be related to Atheism.

  6. Well then, by all means you must meet Mr. Stefanelli:
“Intolerance [Stefanelli means intolerance aimed at Christianity] toward beliefs and doctrines that serve only to promote hatred, bigotry and discrimination should be lauded, as should extremist points of view toward the eradication of these beliefs and doctrines. It should come as no surprise that the individuals who abide by fundamentalist Christian doctrines would be the first to cry out that they are being persecuted when their dangerous, damaging and disingenuous beliefs come under attack. Most of these people lack the maturity and intelligence to act in a socially acceptable manner. Many of them are sociopaths and quite a good number of them are psychopaths. All of them are clearly delusional. The fact is that fundamentalist Christians are not interested in coexisting or getting along. They have no desire for peace. They do not want to sit down with us in diplomatic efforts to iron out our differences and come to an agreement on developing an integrated society. They want us to die. Their interpretation of the Bible is such that there is no other course of action but to kill the infidel, and if anyone believes otherwise they are only fooling themselves. As long as they are allowed to exist [He means Christians], we will continue to be inundated with accounts of buses, buildings, markets and abortion clinics being blown up, rape victims being murdered for adultery, wives being beaten (sometimes to death), airplanes being flown into buildings, people being tortured and sometimes beheaded for blasphemy, people being burned for witchcraft and sorcery and all the other horrific, inhumane and insane practices that are part of fundamental Christianity.”
Al Stefanelli, Georgia State Director of American Atheists, Inc. - September / 2011

How could the High School thing be related to atheism?
Freedom From Religion forced a High-School football team in some small town American outpost to stop a decades long tradition of eating a pregame meal in a Church, served by parent volunteers because it failed, in the atheist's minds to live up to the atheist view of separation of Church and State.

Such inane and provocative behaviours, that seem to be on the rise will, in my mind, backfire on the atheist goal to have people see atheists as, well, as not being assholes through and through. FFR is starting litigation after litigation to force high schools to stop prayers at their football games. In one priceless event that reminded me of a high school Tianannmen Square equivalent, the announcers did as the atheists forced them to do, but almost all the people in the stands and the players themselves stood and prayed on their own. Priceless defiance of atheist bullies.

Oh,and dear Jen, bless her heart:
“Religion is responsible for generating and sustaining most of the racism, sexism, anti-(insert minority human subgroup here)-isms . . .”
    Jen McCreight
Even most atheists know that's bs but these leaders in the atheist movement seem selected for their incompetence.

  7. What he wrote does not seem that bad, but I certainly don't agree with everything.

Most importantly, isn't he doing exactly the same thing you do here on your blog?

    He says:
'doctrines that serve only to promote hatred, bigotry and discrimination should be lauded, as should extremist points of view toward the eradication of these beliefs and doctrines'

    I certainly agree with that.
    You certainly agree with that.

The problem is that he does the same mistake as you and label those who do these terrible things as 'Christians', when Christians is too broad of a term....

Actually, he is not even as bad as you! He does specify 'fundamentalist' Christians, the ones that follow a literal interpretation of the Bible, the ones that reject reality in favor of an eternal post-life paradise to come. So he does not lump up ALL Christians together. He specifically split the extremists from the non-extremists, something you do sometimes, but omit most of the time.

So really, you of all people should not complain about him. It's quite funny really. You two are the same! You even posted more of your content-less rant on your blog, mocking Atheists just for the sake of mocking :-)

Second important thing. When he says 'As long as they are allowed to exist', do you think he means that we should kill them?

I am certain that he does not. That's why I don't think anything he writes is that bad in the end. For the same reason I don't think what most fundamentalist Christians write is that bad.

It crosses a line when people literally want to get rid of the opposition, or silence them. If we fight for liberties and freedom of speech, we all win.
