The 1.6% Solution

1.6% of the North American population says that there actually CAN be an infinite regress of cause. They honestly believe that this universe was created by a previous universe and that universe was created by one previous to that and so on back and back into the infinite past. Even though there is not a philosopher or scientist on the planet that believes an infinite regress of cause is possible (unless they belong to this group), this 1.6% of the population still maintains their implausible position, not because of the evidence but in spite of the evidence. They must do this or their world view will collapse.

  1. Using the 1.6% of North America fake stats again, lol.
    Are you masochist or what?

  2. Wow, we should stop talking as if there exists enough or any adequate information to form strong opinions about whether or not infinite regress is or is not a possibility. We, at this time, cannot say with any confidence whether or not there exists only this universe or a multiverse. Science becomes very complicated and counterintuitive at the edge of our knowledge, you can't possibly spit nonsence like the cosmological arguement or prime mover crap without entering the realm of armchair science. This kind of logic works with the naive, it toys with the intuition of those who expect the next level of science to be common sence, or somehow compatible with day to day life. It's not, that's why your uncle biff didn't come up with testable theories in inflationary cosmology.

    be common sence.

  3. That last sentance wasn't supposed to be there, sorry. I'm sending from my iPhone and I couldn't see the end part, so ignore the "be common sense" part. Thanks

  4. DM said... add comment moderation to your blasphemy blog, you fool..

Thesauros, you're a blasphemer? I'm shocked (and frankly, disappointed). Here I go to a blog that I hoped would give me a real Christian perspective on things, and I discover (thanks, DM!) that you've got nothing but a lying God-hating blasphemy blog!
