Did you see that report? Joran Van der Sloot had at least one friend who said that Joran is a good man. Sure he’s killed at least one woman. Sure he ran fraud scams. Sure he screws around with any woman who’s willing but really, who are we to judge?
That’s what I hear from atheists regularly. Those pioneers of “create your own mix-and-match morality,” atheists, have oddly placed themselves in a position to judge the behaviours of Christians while at the same time demanding that no one question the ‘fact’ that they are model citizens.
Joran, a good man by his standards. According to atheists, who else’s standards are any of us to go by save our own?
In reality, the human soul is so corrupt that even while we, as a collective decide upon a moral system, that system has to be enforced to the tune of 100's of millions of dollars in policing every year.
That is exactly the Bible’s diagnosis of the human soul.
That is why Jesus came to earth. To save us from ourselves.
