Atheists Believe This!

"Imagine “space-time [the matrix we live in] has the surface of a sphere. ... Now suppose that this sphere is shrinking like a balloon that is losing its air. The radius grows smaller and smaller. Eventually—try to imagine this—the radius goes all the way to zero. Pause for a moment to think of a sphere whose radius has gone “all the way to zero.

 No time. No space.

It’s hard—but not impossible—to get your head around it. The surface of the sphere disappears completely and with it space-time itself. We have arrived at nothingness. We have also arrived at a precise definition of nothingness: a closed space-time of zero radius. This is the most complete and utter nothingness that scientific concepts can capture. It is mathematically devoid not only of stuff but also of location and duration. Nothing is nowhere. It’s not anything like a chunk of vacuum because a chunky vacuum has extension. It’s not anything like anything. It’s nothing.”
Alex Vilenkin

There's nothing wrong with this. At least he agrees with Big Bang cosmology that our universe came from literally nothing. However -

Mr. Vilenkin also believes in a multi-verse. Seriously!

Cosmologist John Leslie, who is no believer in Creator God says correctly, after describing how each of the exquisitely, and finely tuned constants and quantities that are required for our kind of life, each of which is also required for numerous other functions that this universe requires just to exist, “This doesn't seem to be a problem that can be solved by the muliti-verse model. The multi-verse model only says that the strength of the electromagnetic force, for example, varies by chance from universe to universe. But for even a single life-permitting strength to be possible, the fundamental laws of physics themselves have to be just so. In other words, those laws – which are, by the way, supposed to be the same all across the multi-verse – must have the potential for intelligent life built into them. Which is precisely why they would be the sort of laws that an infinite mind might find it interesting to contemplate.”

This atheist Vilenkin who I'm sure tells himself that he doesn't believe in anything unless it is supported by scientific evidence (observed, tested, verified) tells us that while our universe came into being out of literally nothing, incredibly a vacuum (which is not even close to “nothing”) worm-holed its way out of another one of the infinite number of universes, and some kind of quantum mechanical loop freakishly happened and – well – hear we are.

There is not a shred of evidence that there is any universe other than the one we are in. Theories of multiple universes are all frivolous fantasies.”
Martin Gardner

Vilenkin and other atheist cosmologists know that Big Bang cosmology all but states categorically that our universe came into being out of literally nothing (Vilenkin explains what “infinitely dense” means, above), but when Creator God is not allowed into the picture then, in atheist-world the next best thing is an infinite number of universes where anything that can happen, does happen. Including a mathematically precise, life-supporting, moral universe exactly like ours.

He believes this!

Atheists believe this!

NOT because the evidence points to a mulit-verse, but because the existence of a multi-verse would answer several of their questions about everything coming from nothing. It's "multi-verse of the gaps."

Who is it who says “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence?” Isn't it the same people who say, “You can't prove a negative like, “God doesn't exist,” all the while believing this negative that can't be proven?

  1. This statement is true:
    "He believes this!"

    This statement is disingenuous:
    "Atheists believe this!"

  2. Well, I'll tell you what, Nick. The next time I hear someone say that our universe is part of an infinite number of universes, and that person is not an atheist, I'll make a personal note of it on this blog.
