Atheists
often accuse Christians of arrogance. Why? Because we think we’re
going to heaven, and in atheist world, getting something really good
would naturally be based upon said person being really good in order
to get something really good.
It’s
how the atheist economy works.
Sad
but true, and wrong.
Every
Christian knows that we have no right to heaven based upon what we
have done.
Our
“right” lies in Jesus
Every
Christian knows that we have no right for pardon based upon what we
have done.
Our
“right” lies in the shedding of His blood
Every
Christian knows that we have no right for justification based upon
what we’ve done.
Our
“right” lies in His righteousness
Every
Christian knows that we have no right to sanctification based upon
what we’ve done.
Our
“right” lies in Him making us complete.
Atheists
will still see us as arrogant.
Well, it may come as a shock to you, but Atheists don't think that anyone goes to heaven, and most of them think that heaven would be a horrible thing, hailing someone for an eternity. So it's not your hope for eternal hailing that we find arrogant.
ReplyDeleteWe find the idea arrogant, that you - based on tales of guys herding goats at the fringes of civilization - believe to be at speaking terms with the creator of the universe. Which is a pretty big place, with 200 billion suns in our galaxy alone, most of which have planets, and our galaxy is just one of about 200 billion galaxies which make up the observable universe. The idea that someone who creates such a vast thing as the universe is interested in the fates of a just lately developed species on exactly one planet is out of scale, to use a polite expression. To think that a whole universe is running for 15.something billion years to produce humans about 2 million years ago is arrogant. You should learn some humility towards the real wonders of the cosmos.
