Invincible

Have you ever felt like that? Have you ever wanted to feel like that? Is it something only for superheros in movies? For teenagers? For someone on cocaine? Listen to this!
So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2nd Corinthians 4:16-18

The “Message” says, “We’re not giving up.” The NIV translation says, “So we do not lose hope.” Paul is saying and I’ve found that what he says is true, that there is a way to encounter life that literally makes us invincible, impervious to the attacks of life. It doesn’t mean that we don’t take some hits, that we don’t become wounded. What it means is that we cannot be beaten. Resilience is ours to be had. This ability is not built on wealth or power or looks. It is built - wait for it - on what cannot be seen. Victory is assured by fixing out spiritual eyes on what cannot be detected with our senses.

Do I hear groans? So what do you want, victory or something that agrees with your philosophy? Do you want victory over life or popularity?
Do you want to be able to love extravagantly or do you want to bail when the going gets tough?
What kind of person would choose to ignore and reject that kind of gift?
