You know how atheists rarely venture outside of the Old Testament lest they run into teachings of Jesus that convict them of a deep need for forgiveness? And you know how atheists accuse Christians of cherry-picking verses to make our case? Do you think atheists ever do the same thing?  Have you ever seen them ranting about this verse? 

Lamentations 3:22-23 - Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

  1. That preface of yours about Jesus & forgiveness is a bit misleading, as you keep quoting the OT.
    But in this case, Lamentations. Love them. especially 3:38/39

    38 Is it not from the mouth of the Most High
    that both calamities and good things come?
    39 Why should the living complain
    when punished for their sins?

    It's a bit hard to reduce JHV to a benevolent helper... as the Hebrews knew pretty well.
