That Is So Cool!

One of the things I like best about Jesus is that He’s always on the side of the little guy, the outsider, the one pushed just past the fringes of acceptable. Jesus wasn’t just on the side of the little guy, He purposely sought out and still does seek out those the majority of the world assumes hold little or nor value.

Atheists and sceptics need not worry about Jesus knocking on their door during meal time or any other time. “I came to call those who know they are sick, not for those who believe they are healthy.” Those who consider themselves too smart for Jesus can go merrily on their way.

When He walked among us Jesus went above and beyond the call to make sure that women, common labourers, the racial outcasts and the poor were invited to join His Kingdom. Prostitutes, criminals, alcoholics, the lonely - especially the lonely - traitors, the old, those on the streets - these and more Jesus took special pains to invite to come home to safety and love. According to Jesus, rather than a closed society, the Kingdom of God is to be as open and accepting as anything ever seen on earth. Anyone who wants to be adopted as sons and daughters of Creator God, as brothers and sisters of Jesus are welcome to come and freely receive His offer of salvation.

There is simply nothing else like it!

“Today you will be with Me in paradise,” is a promise from Jesus that Jesus made to a criminal on a cross is also a promise that any and all can take as our own.

Anyone who has ever been made to feel as though you aren’t acceptable can find acceptance from Him who died to ensure your acceptance into Heaven.

“Shine
Let’em see just what you got
Let’em wish that they were not
On the outside lookin bored”
From the Newsboys - “Shine”

Jesus is so cool. His love so all encompassing; so all inviting.

If you haven’t grabbed hold of it yet, what in the world are you waiting for?
